OKAZU Sample Squares

Anyone who’s seen us at events knows that we use Shreddies cereal to sample our OKAZU chili miso condiments. It’s always funny when people are realizing that they are eating cereal as they try OKAZU for the first time. The little woven squares work perfectly for sampling our products. When we had an open box of Shreddies kicking around after our last event, we decided to snackify them. We call them OKAZU sample bars.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups Shreddies cereal (may substitute with other woven wheat cereal)
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 Tbsp OKAZU miso condiment of your choice

Directions:

  1. Lightly grease or spray a 9-inch square pan.
  2. Microwave butter in a large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 30 sec., or until melted. Stir in marshmallows. Microwave on HIGH 1 min, pausing to check.
  3. Remove from the microwave, dump in the Shreddies and mix, mix, mix. 
  4. When mostly coated, drizzle in the OKAZU and keep mixing.
  5. Pour into the prepared pan and press the mixture down with a greased spatula, filling the corners.
  6. Chill for 20 minutes before turning the sheet out on a cutting board. Cut into 5 rows by 3 rows.
