Is this miso paste pasteurized and pregnancy safe? Thanks!
Hi Stefany! Thank you for your question.
ABO Miso Soup is not pasteurized and contains live bacterial cultures from the fermentation process. It also contains traces of alcohol due to the inclusion of the sakekasu ingredient. If pregnant, please consult your healthcare provider if you have concerns regarding the consumption of unpasteurized foods and ingredients containing trace amounts of alcohol.
My daughter and I had some the other night and we were disappointed with it when compared to what we get at our local Japanese restaurant for just a couple dollars.
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for giving ABO Miso Soup a try and for your feedback. Our miso soup is different from typical miso soup because it is all plant-based, where most rely on fish stock, or artificial flavourings, to achieve umami taste. We also use two fermented ingredients, one of them being upcycled.
I’m very happy with the products and love the convenience of delivery.
The Miso soup was easy to prepare and very creamy. One of the most flavourful Miso soups I’ve ever had!!
